PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Seed Sales Associate is accountable for sales and market share growth of all seed brands represented by GROWMARK FS.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Leads and initiates sales calls with targeted growers.
Meets or exceeds seed sales goals annually.
Has a passion for the seed industry and seed sales.
Develops written proposals that create value & differentiation in the market place and to grow seed volumes.
Is required to be the leader in understanding all trait offerings in the trade territory and differentiation points.
Is required to be the leader in all FS Seed product line knowledge, corn,soybeans,forages and small seeds.
Promotes all GROWMARK FS seed brands in seed proposals.
Ability to identify key grower targets in the territory that are not current seed accounts and execute sales calls on these growers.
Responsible for developing and executing seed business plans in the trade territory to be organized in the seed selling process.
Is a leader in promoting and executing Climate Field View as a way to strengthen account relationships with key accounts.
Effectively negotiates and closes any product performance issues.
Be able to work with all GROWMARK II FS locations as needed.
Ability to identify new sales opportunities with fertilizer & chemicals and direct those opportunities to the local crop specilalist.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK FS Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Normally requires a Bachelors degree in Ag Business or Agronomy, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of ag sales related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of seed and crop protection sales.
High level of sales skills and ability to stay active in the sales process
Ability to provide proper seed recommendations.
Ability to develop and present complete seed solutions for large multi-person farming operations.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must be able to attain and/or maintain Certified Crop Advisor.
Occasionally exposed or required to:
- Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
- Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals,
- Lift 51-70 lbs,
Will be required to work extended hours.
Will need to be able travel independently and overnight.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
