Agtegra Cooperative is seeking a Location Manager in Herreid, SD to manage both grain and agronomy.

Position Summary

Manages full time, part time, and seasonal employees of the location. Carries out supervisory functions in accordance with the Agtegra’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and mentoring; performance appraisals; rewarding and disciplining employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicates and promotes agronomic products, services, and programs that meet customer’s needs.
  • Coordinates production, distribution, warehousing, and sales in accordance with the Agtegra’s policies, principles, and procedures on fertilizer, seed, and crop protection products.
  • Communicate and hold weekly scheduled meetings with agronomy department regarding various sales programs and operational logistics.
  • Directs employees in all aspects of operations including unloading, loading, application, walk-in sales, and product deliveries.
  • Develops best efficiency practices for our products, machines, and employees.
  • Works in conjunction with sales manager to plan and direct sales programs that fall within the Agtegra’s’ policies and mission statement.
  • Communicates and promotes grain marketing products, services, and programs that meet customer’s needs.
  • Coordinates distribution, maintaining quality, and sales in accordance with Agtegra policies, principles, and procedures on grain commodities.
  • Communicate and hold weekly scheduled meetings with grain department regarding various marketing programs and operational logistics.
  • Directs employees in all aspects of operations including unloading, loading, and sales of grain commodities.
  • Develops best efficiency practices for our products, machines, and employees.
  • Works in conjunction with grain merchandisers to plan and direct grain sales programs that fall within Agtegras’ policies and mission statement.
  • Creates an annual business plan that will help forecast the upcoming year’s balance sheet.
  • Understands, complies with, and enforces the Agtegra’s Credit Policy.
  • Operates facility under EPA, OSHA, and Department of Agriculture laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Responsible for maintaining a profitable location through expense management, revenue maximization, and risk management.
  • Conducts annual formal performance reviews with full time employees.
  • Manages staffing levels for the location and hires appropriately while placing candidates in positions of best fit.
  • Makes on-farm calls and deliveries to solidify customer relationships.
  • Must have willingness to learn all aspects of the business and be prepared to proficiently execute any task that is required.
  • Acts as a mentor to all full-time staff and interns while helping them progress as employees and individuals.
  • Utilize forecasts and software programs while relying on experience to help leverage inventory control.
  • Build and grow the team through continuous improvement efforts.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed by upper-management, may include participating in meetings, training, recruiting, community relations, or committees.

Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
