Mechanical Integrity (MI) Coordinator Corn Plant - Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, exempt level position.

Job Summary:
The Mechanical Integrity Coordinator is responsible for leading, implementing, and sustaining the mechanical integrity of site assets to allow safe and reliable operation of the assets. This person will define new asset requirements and strategies for the site as well as advance and sustain existing MI activities. The position is part of the Maintenance team in the Decatur Corn Plant and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Direct and lead third party contractors involved with MI activities at the site
  • Support plant in sustaining and improving MI efforts and activities
  • Approve / determine changes to Inspection/Test or PM Frequencies
  • Direct, manage, and support site mechanical integrity programs
  • Partner with plant maintenance team and RCM Practitioners to develop action plan to correct known deficiencies in assets
  • Work with SMEs to establish inspection and repair plans, identify relevant damage mechanisms, select appropriate inspection tasks/NDE methods, and develop inspection/maintenance plans for all equipment types
  • Contribute to Design, Specification, and Construction activities as it relates to the Quality Assurance of Equipment.
  • Reviews and approves Inspection and Testing Procedures used to ensure compliance with appropriate API/ASME codes, etc.
  • Ensure, API, ASME, NFPA, NBIC, and other applicable Standards and RAGAGEPs are Incorporated into the MI program, particularly as it relates to Inspection and Repair
  • Interpret Inspection Reports and ensure mandatory integrity items are planned and corrected. Reviews inspection, testing, and repair documentation and follows up on corrective actions as needed
  • Incorporate remaining life calculations and next Inspection dates based on equipment condition into the site's inspection scheduling plan
  • Support / lead Risk Based Inspection implementation
  • Assist in defining and implementing best practices for Inspection and Repair documentation / record storage and tracking
  • Work with SMEs to provide guidance, direction, and leadership for reliability issues involving Fixed Equipment (piping, pressure vessels, exchangers, heaters, tanks, etc.).
  • Develop procedures required for Equipment inspections and tests
  • Supports or Leads MI Compliance Auditing efforts at plant sites
  • Ensure / select 3rd party inspectors and repairers have necessary qualifications and certifications
  • Ensure PSM requirements for PSV's and Critical Safety Devices are met and kept up to date.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Thorough working knowledge of applicable codes, standards and RAGAGEPs (ASME Section VIII, API 510, 570, 653)
  • Good decision-making ability and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership experience and ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability
Education/Training:
  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering from accredited university or institution preferred
  • Or Seven plus years of experience in MI deployment, sustaining in a plant environment is required. Some of this experience may have been acquired in positions such as chief inspector, maintenance planner, maintenance scheduler, reliability technician or similar position
  • Training and familiarity in API, ASME, NBIC and other industry standards and RAGAGEPs
  • Training or experience in Asset Criticality scoring
  • Certified as an API inspector a plus
Experience:
  • Minimum of 4+ years' experience in MI, Reliability, and PSM with engineering degree OR
  • 7+ years of experience in MI program planning, implementation, deployment, sustainment if non-engineer degreed
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and executing a Mechanical Integrity program
  • Experience with material science, corrosion, and fitness for service
  • Extensive knowledge of PSM requirements
