Vessel Operator - Trainee - White Plains, NY Global Ocean Freight-ADM Shipping This is a full-time, exempt level position. Position Summary and Responsibilities: The Global Ocean Freight department (GOF) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day voyage management of dry bulk vessels. Primary customers include internal ADM counterparts and destinations. The department serves as a liaison between the vessel owner and cargo receivers and handles all aspects of the ocean freight business. The group takes operational responsibility of vessels and cargoes controlled by ADM on a global basis. The ideal candidate will be engaged in gaining a broad overview of all facets of the ocean freight business. This will include, but is not limited to-working in vessel operations, following the loading and discharge of bulk cargoes, initiating freight payments, claims handling, calculating laytime, and settlement of freight accounts. Additional duties consist of port agency appointments, voyage optimization and performance monitoring, and liaising between various internal departments globally. Required Skills:
