Material Handler II Train - Quincy IL Job Summary Barge Dock employees who are training to be able to fully perform the functions of a Material Handler II. This includes but is not limited to learning to assist in grain movement via truck, barge, or rail. Facility Expectations- Follow the expectations of all safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Ensure product quality expectations are met.
- Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
- Responsible for ensuring area is kept clean and completion of all listed housekeeping duties per the master sanitation schedule.
- Work with other colleagues to effectively communicate production issues.
- Participate in morning toolbox, shift exchange/review and response meetings to communicate your key process indicator performance.
- Once qualified, provide mentoring and training to new colleagues.
- Required to work overtime as specified by management.
- Attend training classes in-plant or at other locations as assigned.
- Apply PE principles and standards to your work area and work processes
Work Duties- Assists in grain barge loading.
- Analyzes and repairs basic mechanical problems.
- Performs minor carpentry work in river terminal areas
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements pertaining to river terminal operations.
- Knowledge of all company environmental and safety rules pertaining to river terminals.
- Work in situation where human error could result in financial loss or personal injury Knowledge of department order of operations.
- Knowledge of the process of Sampling, weighing, generating customer tickets, and dumping customer grain trucks.
- Sweeps out grain bins and scrapes hoppers to remove remaining grain.
- Training on grain grading proficiency.
- Material handlers are directly involved with placing grain throughout the facility and ensuring that grain is segregated as needed to maintain good quality in our storage tanks.
- Rotate product as necessary.
- Housekeeping is still a job duty of all ADM employees.
Minimum Requirements - High School diploma or GED with strong fundamental skills (math, reading, writing).
- Previous warehouse and/or industrial plant experience preferred.
- Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs., walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, and work at heights.
- Must have a valid driver's license to drive company vehicles to transport self and items across site.
- Requires working in extreme temperature conditions. No areas being climate controlled.
- Ability to use computers including Microsoft Office skills. Basic math and writing skills Previous Maximo or CMMS experience beneficial.

- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours. Overtime required including extended hours and Saturday work during plant shutdown periods.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
