Verbio Verbio is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, Laboratory Technician, for its production facility in South Bend, IN. About Verbio Verbio acquired South Bend Ethanol, LLC, an operating?ethanol plant located in South Bend, Indiana. As a global leader in the renewable?energy?industry, this will be Verbio’s second US production facility following?the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant.?The site will be?developed over the next three years incorporating?Verbio’s advanced engineering?and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand?and develop the plant?into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million. Integration of the ethanol production with?the RNG production process, unique to the Verbio brand and developed?successfully at the company`s facilities in?Europe over the past decade, will?result in higher efficiencies and improved sustainability. Following commissioning, the production?capacity of the plant will be at 85 million gallons of?corn ethanol and 2.8 billion?cubic feet (Bcf) of RNG per year. Position Purpose Responsible for routine laboratory testing of process samples, environmental samples, final product tank certification samples. Responsible for reporting changes in process from a laboratory perspective. Maintain a close working relationship with operations staff and follow laboratory techniques to ensure data is consistent and repeatable. Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of specialized instrumentation in the lab and in the field. Essential Functions Performs routine laboratory test of production and environmental samples to ensure the quality of final product and environmental discharge levels In charge of day-to-day testing in line with standard operating procedures to ensure proper plant operations Enters laboratory test data into spreadsheets and generates reports as required Understanding lab data and how it pertains to plant operations. Communicates laboratory analyses to plant personnel. Maintain and properly use all lab equipment, including performing calibrations and cross validations. Works independently on routine duties but consults with supervisor on any problems/rejections or unusual test results. Ensures work area is kept clean and free from safety and environmental hazards. Involved with the development, implementation, and revisions of the plant quality program. Prepare chemical solutions for use in lab. Maintains awareness and adheres to all GLP, cGMP, TTB, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines Assist with shipment of samples to ensure compliance with DOT, TTB or other governmental or company regulations and requirements. Supports the Safety and Environmental Department as directed by supervisor. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Previous laboratory experience preferred Previous ethanol experience or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. ???????Previous experience with ASTM, QA/QC, Good Lab Practices programs is preferred but not required Ability to be available when needed for emergency calls WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU Starting salary is based on the candidate's experience, education, and market pay for the role in the region.?
