Agriculture Science Teacher Abernathy ISD is searching for an Agriculture Science Teacher to add to our phenomenal Agriculutural Program. This position will work under our exceptional Administrative Team and alongside our other AG Teachers to help students acquire specialized skills. Potential Agriculture Science Teacher applicants are expected to provide hands on and high quality classroom instruction. Job Title: Agricultural Science Teacher Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/Professional Reports to: High School Principal Date Revised: May 6, 2019 Dept./School: Assigned Campus Primary Purpose: Direct and manage the agricultural science program for assigned campus. Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from accredited university Valid Texas teaching certificate Demonstrated competency in agricultural science Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of agricultural science and technology Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Experience with stock shows Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior Ability to supervise agricultural field experiences Ability to manage budget and personnel Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: One year student teaching or approved internship Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies

Supervise assigned teacher aide(s) when applicable.
