Welcome to Michigan Valley Irrigation! We’re hiring an Irrigation Parts Specialist for our McBride, MI location to support sales and service while increasing the efficiency of MVI operations and providing high quality experience to our farm customers. In this role you will manage all parts and inventory while assisting MVI customers with parts orders or inquiries.

 

Since 1985, Michigan Valley Irrigation has been serving Michigan and the surrounding areas.  We have 3 locations in Michigan located in Vassar, McBride, and Caledonia.  We are a full-service agricultural irrigation company, proudly selling the Valley brand of irrigation equipment.  From irrigation of specialty crops to management of wastewater, Michigan Valley Irrigation has a solution. We offer competitive compensation ranging from $20 - $35 per hour based on experience along with health insurance, 401K, bonuses, and paid time off. We are willing to offer relocation assistance for individuals with center pivot irrigation experience or willing to train the right person with a willingness to learn.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Assist sales staff with project launching. Including:
    • Gathering BOM as requested by sales (and vetting).
    • Price checking with vendors.
    • Ensuring required materials are in stock or coordinating orders.
  • Ensure the service team maintains a high level of productivity via:
    • Verifying required parts are in stock.
    • Communicating inventory discrepancies; low stock, mismatched inventories.
    • Ensure parts are in the proper location for easy access.
    • Communicating and coordinating with service team regarding equipment issues and remedies.
  • Proper stocking of parts and equipment based on seasonal demand.
  • Daily checks on inventory levels and reordering if necessary.
  • Updating Inventory software and monitoring inventory levels.
  • Assist Office manager in proper invoicing.
  • Professional communication with customers on orders or inquiries.
  • If you have a mechanical and maintenance background, and as necessary, perform vehicle and equipment maintenance.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in agriculture, farming, equipment, irrigation, parts, or other relatable experience. We are willing to train the right person with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to load and unload large freight with a forklift. Sometimes as large as 45’ pipes or 10,000lb generators.
  • Knowledge of parts and ability to track location of parts.
  • Someone who is extremely organized and pays attention to details.
  • Mechanical, maintenance, or technician background is helpful but not required.
