Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual to join us as a full-time intern for 8 weeks to promote a culture of health, safety, and well-being in Lost Hills of the Lost Hills Community and Wonderful Employees. In addition, you'll gain hands-on experience managing gym memberships, leading fitness classes, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained. By the end of this internship, you will have a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to run a successful gym and make a positive impact in the community. This position will begin June 17, 2024, and is located at the Family Resource Center in Lost Hills at 14848 Lamberson Ave. Lost Hills, CA 93249. The schedule for this internship is as follows:

Monday-Friday: 12:00pm-8:30pm

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Act as liaison/point of contact for the Wonderful Community Fitness Center
  • Greet all incoming members and guests who enter the Fitness Center
  • Answer all incoming inquiries and obtain appropriate information to handle member service issues
  • Follow daily routines during your shift at the Fitness Center
  • Maintain equipment and ensure it is properly stored when not in use
  • Keep disinfectant wipes stocked
  • Monitor the community's usage of the weight room
  • Ensure everyone is utilizing their time and equipment efficiently
  • Having a passion for health and fitness and looking for an opportunity to make a positive impact in the community
  • Be an integral member of the wellness fitness team to promote and market wellness strategies to the community
  • Take pictures or videos of the community interactions inside the Fitness Center, while also making sure they have the Image Release Form signed
  • Organize and support all fitness and wellness events, such as informational presentations/classes, organized runs or walks, fitness campaigns, etc.
  • Track and maintain wellness records/reports related to attendance, participation, or performance dates for wellness programs and events
Qualifications

As part of your duties, you will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of two special fitness events aimed at promoting the fitness center in the community. These events should be both innovative and engaging, to attract new members to the gym.
  • Must be 18 years of age and a Wonderful Scholar active and eligible for college success scholarship
  • Must submit a resume, reference letter, and cover letter with your application
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Ability to speak English & Spanish (Highly Preferred)
  • Ability to multitask within the given tasks of the fitness center
  • Ability to be flexible and meet the changing needs of the park
  • Ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and other staff members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and being a team player
  • Ability to operate and maintain fitness equipment
  • Candidate will be required to complete CPR certification, mandated reporter training, & Alice certification (Training will be completed at job site)
Pay: $18.00/Hour
