PURPOSE
As a Regional Field Service Mechanic at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for providing professional and courteous service to the internal customers of Central Valley Ag through the duties assigned by the Agronomy Service Manager of Central Valley Ag.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, research, and repair custom fertilizer application equipment using manufacturer provided service tool, specialty tools and personal mechanical skills.
- Maintain and operation of field service crane body service truck at a cleanly, serviced and DOT compliant state.
- Safe and compliant operation of provided field service truck to include, truck crane, onboard air systems, welder/generator and onboard hydraulics, specialty tools and lifting devices.
- Maintain a Class A or B license that is DOT compliant.
- Must be licensed and insurable to drive.
- Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
- Work within company record keeping software to track repairs via work order submission to the Agronomy Service Manager and Location Manager of the assigned equipment being repaired.
- Equipment repair work performed at cooperative location shops as well as in field farm locations of our customers.
- Test and repair or replacement of electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment and hand tools.
- Greet and assists customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Works at other locations as assigned with a willingness and flexibility to work within constantly changing priorities that may include overnight stays at provided hotels.
- Maintains good housekeeping of provided field service truck and cooperative location shops as they apply.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- High School or GED diploma.
- Mechanics degree or 1-2 years of mechanical firsthand experience.
- Experience working on application equipment or heavy equipment such as Farm equipment or Semi’s would be beneficial.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and establish effective working relations with internal operations and external customers.
- Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority while promoting a work environment that is safe for everyone.
- Can plan, prioritize, organize, and manage resources to accomplish jobs with-in the defined timetable.
- Must have good computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task several assignments simultaneously and establish job priorities.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Advanced mechanical skills would be beneficial.
- Advanced understanding of electrical systems, controllers, hydraulics, welding and fabrication would be beneficial.
- Works well with others to achieve a common goal.
