A little about the business: The Maschhoffs is the largest family-owned hog production network in North America. They partner with nearly 550 family farms across the Midwest. These family farmers, known as their Production Partners, work with them to collectively produce enough pork to feed more than 16 million consumers annually. They are looking for a Production Technician to work on a Wean-to-Market farm near Dunlap, IA.
What you would be doing: As the Production Technician, you would be responsible for the daily animal care and feeding, monitoring the barn environment for proper temperature and ventilation rates, sorting animals according to body condition, assisting in the movement of animals in pens and loading/unloading, administering medications and vaccines, and performing maintenance and repairs on buildings and equipment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent, excellent animal husbandry skills, one year of farm and/or livestock experience is a plus, and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
A little about the business: The Wonderful Company is a privately held $4 billion company committed to offering high-quality, healthy brands. They grow, harvest, bottle, package, and marker a diverse range of healthy products, including fruit, nuts, flowers, water, wines, and juices. They are looking for a Retail Sales Merchandiser to join their team in Baltimore, Maryland.
What you would be doing: As the Retail Sales Merchandiser, you would be responsible for maintaining territory as assigned to build/establish grocery retail relationships, taking initiative to expand space/presence on all Wonderful brands products, rotating and stocking all company authorized products as needed on every grocery store call, maintaining schematic integrity, developing and maintaining relationships with retailer store and field operations personnel, and executing, maintaining, and monitoring all company-driven marketing initiatives and programs.
Qualifications: Must have successfully sold conceptual products and programs to decision-makers at all levels, be skilled at providing compelling reasons to purchase or display against the competition, the ability to lift 50lbs, be able to work an early morning schedule, and must be computer literate.
A little about the business: Florida Crystals is a leading domestic sugar producer and North America’s first fully integrated cane sugar company. They are America’s first and only producer of certified organic sugar, grown and harvested in the United States. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineering Planner to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Maintenance Engineering Planner, you would report to the Director of Industrial Shops and be responsible for the oversight of work flow, reporting, and budgeting of all agricultural related equipment and maintenance shop functions. Some of your duties would include assisting in equipment shop budget, keeping the shop organized for efficient and effective workflow, providing logistical support for Agricultural Operations, and assisting with equipment maintenance.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, agriculture, industrial, or mechanical degree preferred, 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, and experience with equipment reliability improvement, precision ag and GIS, continuous improvement, budgeting, and inventory.
A little about the business: Ag Partners provides products, services, and market access in the areas of grain, agronomy, feed, and petroleum. The company’s locations include retail and wholesale agronomy outlets, grain facilities, and feed mills throughout Iowa. They are looking for an Applicator/Operations member to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Applicator/Operations worker, you would be responsible for providing above average customer service, handling of ag chemicals and fertilizer, tending a post sprayer as needed, performing outside maintenance and grain operations, and preparing grain rail cars and loading cars according to specifications as needed.
Qualifications: Operation experience of custom application, familiar with chemical rates, uses, and restrictions, able to perform maintenance checks, a Class A CDL, a Commercial Applicators License or willing to train, and agricultural and sprayer experience preferred.
A little about the business: Masselink Dairy, located in Middleville, MI, is a family-owned and operated dairy operation. They are passionate about agriculture and dedicated to the care of their animals. They are looking for a Finance and Project Manager to join their team.
What you would be doing: As the Finance and Project Manager, you would be focused on leading financial reporting compliance, specialty business projects, and technology. Some of your responsibilities would include performing month-end closing and final bank reconciliations, developing and producing weekly/monthly financial reporting, tracking and managing compliance, and working closely with the owners to understand larger projects and lead continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications: A strong background in agriculture such as crop farming, agribusiness, and/or livestock, a bachelor’s degree, experience in financial reporting and higher level accounting, the ability to contribute strategically, and the proven ability to maximize the use of technology to improve efficiency.
