Overview
The Shipping Clerk supports the Distribution function by coordinating all open orders, making adjustments, and communicating with the team on any delays and scheudle changes.
Qualifications
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work weekends, and varying shifts (days, evenings, nights)
- Capable of remaining focused and set priorities during peak demand periods with phones, associates, drivers and managers requesting multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to accurately record data
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Position requires frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping and kneeling
- Walk/stand on your feet constantly during your shift
- Ability to work extended periods in a cold, damp environment
- Must be physically capable of moving ladders, climbing ladders safely to count product inventory and record code dates
Responsibilities
- Make adjustments on orders in system
- Create new ticket consolidatiing all adjustments
- Key all Inventory Release Orders
- Check open orders for any date issues or load sheets that have not been released at 5:30 PM daily
- Run cut report daily and send to distribution list for the prior warehouse date
- Prepare cut sheets and fax to branches to communicate expectations
- Coordinate with Yard Driver number of available trailers for loading to specific destination. Record information on trailer manifest
- Separate load sheets and disburse to Shipping Workers in refrigerated warehouse and Case Room for orders to be selected and prepared for shipment
- Contact Transport Manager, Distribution Manager and branches of any delayed shipments to their respective locations or any schedule changes and /or major product cuts that might impact their delivery schedules to customers
