CHS has an exciting opportunity in our IT group. We are looking for a Project Delivery Lead to provide project delivery leadership through direct management of people and influential coaching of best practice delivery processes. This role will be focused on management of Business Change projects. The ideal candidate will use their passion for continuous improvement and coaching to help build out our next generation of delivery across people, process, data and technology with a focus on people and process. This role will work directly with the PMO Manager to expand project management to an Enterprise PMO and an asset for the organization.

You will:

  • Lead People
    • Identify, screen and hire talent
    • Execute ongoing Performance Mgmt. including goal development, performance evaluation and action planning
    • Coach the creation of Development Plans
    • Create an environment of recognition and continuous feedback
  • Oversee Delivery
    • Intake demand and assign Project Managers based on skills, experience, relationship and leadership styles needed
    • Review active projects for alignment to our project delivery policy and procedures
    • Provide coaching on issues, risk, and delivery. Provides and directs complex issues and escalations
    • Instructs and directs less-experienced Project Managers
  • Empower Continuous Improvement
    • Leads efforts to develop, review and approve standards, guidelines, policy and procedures for project delivery
    • Leads efforts to find solutions for areas that impact cross organization delivery
    • Collaborate across IT and Business Leaders

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Delivery to include:
    • Experience leading change affecting process, people, data and technology
    • Experience creating well defined business cases and setting project objectives
    • Experience in formal techniques of risk management
    • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
    • Experience managing projects in a matrixed, shared services corporate environment with decentralized, business units
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team focused on enterprise business level change in business process, people, data and/or technology change to include:
    • Experience with business process and organizational change management
    • Experience working closely with business teams
    • Passion for growing people and improving the brand of the organization
    • Experience coaching others and holding candid crucial conversations
    • Demonstrated broad, enterprise-wide thinking skills to assess the needs of the organization and provide continuous improvement focus areas

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
  • PMP Certification from PMI
  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master), SA (SAFe Agilist) and/or SSM (SAFe Scrum Master) certifications
  • Knowledge of Agriculture, Energy, and Corporate functions
  • Recent experience working in an organization working through a transformation
  • Experience working in ambiguity and helping others through change
  • Experience as a program or executive project manager
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and SharePoint as a workflow and management repository
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development
  • Management of projects with cross functional, business, infrastructure and applications teams
  • Demonstrated communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Indirect management of a matrix project team consisting of full-time and contracted resources.
  • Experience as a project leader or team leader in Business focused environment
  • Keen understanding of multiple leadership, communication, and thinking styles
  • Understands how to influence change without direct control within a decentralized business unit culture
  • Experience implementing project delivery processes or project management tools
  • Supervisory experience to include performance management processes, coaching and mentoring
  • Prior informal management experience is preferred, but not mandated
  • Experience mentoring junior PMO team members on PMI best practices, providing project management guidance and support
  • Experience working within effective PMO’s
