The Seneca, SC Plant is a specialty chemical catalysts manufacturing and precious metals refining facility. The Process Catalyst Operations Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Catalyst Manufacturing Areas.
We are looking for a professional like you support the day to day operation of the Process Catalyst Area, providing technical assistance in executing the required production plan. You will own Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Equipment Procedures (EP’s) and Batch Instructions, lead troubleshooting efforts, and interact with Operations, Maintenance, and other operational support personnel. As you deliver process improvements in quality, productivity, cost and environmental compliance, you must also demonstrate strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Occupational and Process Safety rules and policies. You will be instrumental in leading troubleshooting efforts when problems arise and are expected to be a solution provider. This position requires strong leadership in safety and Behavioral Based Safety processes which support the BASF Journey to EHS Excellence.

Leveraging your education in an Engineering discipline and professional experience in a broad chemical or regulated plant environment, you will provide guidance and input to the achievement and development of plant production goals, objectives, and operational budgets while meeting established standards of Safety, Efficiency Quality, Cost and Environmental Protection.Utilizing your familiarity with chemical processing equipment, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to Daily Operational Team for plant problems that occur.Successfully engaging inside and outside of the organization, you will work closely with Maintenance to ensure proper priorities are placed on items in the Maintenance backlog, interface with suppliers, customers, and vendors as needed to maintain plant operation, and communicate and collaborate effectively with support functions to ensure effective, efficient, and safe area operations.Displaying your commitment to LEAN methodologies, you will lead continuous improvement activities by fostering innovation and facilitating change that drives improvement.Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will support Capital Plan and Project Execution of existing and future Capital projects as Manufacturing Representative (as needed or appropriate).Your pledge to safety will be a valued asset as you will lead and support EHS activities and processes, own Process Safety Information (PSI) inclusive of Safety Concept, and lead investigations by insuring root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent reoccurence are identified and closed out. You will also ensure environmental and compliance requirements are met by performing emissions calculations, spill prevention, and creating reports for permit compliance.As a role model, you will provide guidance and input in developing and achieving plant goals, objectives, and operational budgets. You will drive standardization across shifts and optimize operating costs; partnering with other site/area functions for standardization and best practice sharing across the site.Your proven organizational skills will be useful as you provide operational forecasts to other business units to enable transparency and commercial decision making.
