YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
The primary responsibilities of this role, North America Vegetable Seeds Product Supply – Human Resource Business Partner, are to: 
 

  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination for all Human Resource activities across the site;
  • Ensure Human Resource Site responsibility for all Human Resource activities in the Oxnard Production Site Member of VS PS North America LT and VS/ES Human Resources LT;
  • Serve as a strategic consultant to assigned client groups on a broad range of organizational issues of critical importance to the business;
  • Anticipate business needs and provide realistic solutions aligned with business objectives;
  • Gain a clear understanding of current and future business strategies in order to influence the Global Vegetable Seeds People Strategy and implement an effective North American people plan;
  • Apply Human Resource knowledge and skills to effectively drive business practices and resolve people issues;
  • Provide ongoing coaching and consultation to people managers;
  • Assist and provide counsel to employees and people managers in resolving complex or sensitive Human Resource problems, including disciplinary counseling, legal issues and terminations;
  • Demonstrate active leadership during organizational change efforts;
  • Develop effective coaching relationships with key business leaders;
  • Foster accountability for employee development and performance by ensuring training/goal – setting and recognition plans/programs are in place;
  • Ensure effective leadership and operational excellence of all Human Resource processes including performance reviews, incentive planning and talent reviews/succession planning;
  • Partner with appropriate HR specialist teams to deliver HR excellence.

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • At least nine years of progressive Human Resources experience or at least five years of experience with an advanced degree;
  • Functional knowledge of HR practices, policies and programs;
  • Experience coaching and providing leadership development across multiple levels;
  • Confidence in autonomous decision making;
  • Proven to manage complex employee relations issues and to apply HR knowledge to resolve complex business challenges;
  • In-depth knowledge of HR processes, programs, policies and systems;
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary project and corresponding change management;
  • Experience working in volatile, unclear, complex, ambiguous and multicultural environments.
     

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • M.B.A. or Master”s degree in Human Resources, Organization Psychology or related field;
  • Previous Human Resource Generalist experience;
  • Experience with California labor law .
