Gernaat Dairy is a family-owned, 3,000 head dairy located in Falmouth, MI (20 miles east of Cadillac, MI).  We pride ourselves on operating a progressive dairy farm offering high quality milk to our customers.  Our team prides itself on working together to be a solid, efficient and well-organized team.

We are hiring for a full-time, year-round position to rotate as both a Milking Parlor Operator and Cow Pusher/Operator

As a Milking Operator you will be responsible for extracting milk from the cows utilizing modern technology while following standard procedures. As a Cow Pusher/Operator you will responsible for moving cows from the freestall pens to the holding pen to be milked and be responsible for operating equipment to scrape manure from pens into pits.

If you are a driven individual that works well working with a team and are comfortable working with large livestock, we are willing to train.

The position is full-time, day schedule working 5am to 5pm or night schedule 5pm to 5am on your working days.  50-60 hours per week with approximately 2-3 days off per week.

Hourly wage is $12.50/hour ($600-750/week average) with yearly raises. Housing available immediately.

Job Responsibilities:

Milker Operator

  • Milk cows in a parallel parlor.
  • Follow milking procedure to optimize milk quality and cow health.
  • Adhere to strict animal care and handling policies.

Cow Pusher / Operator

  • Move cows from their pens to holding pen to be milked.
  • Operate skid steer to clean manure from barns.
