CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations Division. We are looking for an entry level Marketing Communications Specialist to work extensively with CHS locations in Northeastern Colorado and Western Nebraska executing marketing communication efforts. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will:

  • Collaborate with CHS marketing communications to implement an integrated marketing program locally that will improve current brand management strategies and support image improvement/maintenance at our facilities.
  • Assist HR business partner in the acquisition process for hourly staff and in employee onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Assist management in developing a marketing budget and adhere to outlined expenses. Procure branded items (give-a-ways, hats, gifts, etc.) to align with business unit needs and goals including manage donations to area events, organizations, fundraisers within budget.
  • Collaborate with local HR in recruiting for the business units, participating in career fairs and other events on local college and community college campuses. Attend college courses as guest speaker to promote CHS and local business unit. Coordinate scholarship program including award presentations and advertising of winners. Coordinate sponsorships and donations to insure maximum benefit and alignment with business unit and CHS Foundation goals.
  • Work with print and electronic media venues to manage campaigns.
  • Write, edit/update, proof, and arrange for printing of marketing and promotional materials, including newsletters and newspaper articles.
  • Provide oversight to ensure correctness in the appearance, assembly and distribution of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate and prepare radio and/or television advertisements and on-air promotions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts and keep media contact lists current. Review and edit all communications to ensure proper representation of the corporate identity and image. Incorporate graphic and style standards including appropriate copyright usage into all communication pieces.
  • Support company web pages and social media by reviewing, updating, and promoting externally.
  • Prepare and assist with presentations regarding annual meetings, producer meetings and others upon the request of management.
  • Maintain an understanding of company products and services.
  • Attend and participate in department/staff meetings as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work extended hours as needed to meet business demands.

Basic Qualifications: (required)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Social Media applications
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

  • Associate’s degree in a Marketing, Communications, Business or related field
  • Agricultural experience/exposure
  • Previous Agricultural internship
  • Experience designing and editing using the Adobe Suite (In design, Photoshop)
