Maintenance Mechanic- Charlotte, NC
This is a hourly level position.
The Mechanic works as part of the maintenance team to support plant wide maintenance activities and ensure equipment availability and proper functioning. The Mechanic must be knowledgeable of and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).24/7 support of the plant is required when needed. Employees rotate on call duties. Applicants are required to have an industrial mechanical maintenance background. Proficiency in mechanical diagnosis and repair is required.Mechanics are required to work closely with operators and management to provide good customer service. Must be able to climb stairs, perform some heavy lifting, sit or stand for long periods, work at heights, bending, kneeling, and be able to be respirator qualified. Must be able to work in all environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, and dusty environment. Must be willing to work shift work and overtime as required.
•Carry out department and company safety policies and procedures at all times.
•Perform safe troubleshooting, installation, routine maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment (blowers, motors, fans, gearboxes, etc.)
•Demonstrate basic machine repair and rebuilding.
•Have a basic understanding of electrical to assist in equipment troubleshooting and lockout.
•Maintain facilities in clean, organized and efficient operating manner.
•Participate in plant projects when needed.
•Be able to work in and promote a positive team working environment.
•Be able to work at heights greater than 150′ and in harsh outdoor environments.
•Be able to lift and carry items that are 50 lbs.
•Have ability to perform job duties outside of normal working hours when asked.
•Must be able to climb and balance oneself on a ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl into tight places as required.
• Training in and/or knowledge of key safety program components, including
Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Hot Work, Behavioral Safety, etc.
• Experience with electrical work, including machine lock out and components
• Experience in boiler operation work
• Experience in welding and fabrication
