Where the Chemistry Happens…

BASF Canada has a unique opportunity for a Corporate Affairs Intern, combining experience in both areas digital communications and sustainability. The primary role of this position will be to provide support to BASF Canada’s Corporate Affairs team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, your assignments will include, but not be limited to the following:

Digital Communications

  • Design and development of layouts and graphics for internal and external materials including social media
  • Record and edit video content, take photos at internal and external events
  • Develop and launch e-registration event pages, manage employee surveys and polls
  • Upload content to company intranet site
  • Assist with logistics related to internal/external events
  • Support invoicing process and reconciling activities


  • Provide administrative support to the Manager of Sustainability to organize and facilitate sustainability-focused customer meetings, external and internal sustainability stakeholder meetings, and sustainability partnership meetings
  • Coordinate sourcing content for informational packages for sustainability-focused customer meetings and/or internal and external stakeholder meetings
  • Work alongside the Sustainability to maintain and update customer information relevant for sustainability customer meetings
  • Provide monthly briefings on sustainability trends and policy trends that have the potential to impact BASF’s businesses (identifying both opportunities and risks)




    • University graduates, preferably with a communications, public affairs, environmental science, political science, international development or economics background
    • Proficient in web design, html, Word Press
    • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
    • Proficient in video editing
    • Experience and/or interest in photography
    • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and oral);
    • Results-oriented and highly organized
    • Strong research and coordination skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks with time-sensitive deadlines
    • Big picture thinking with the ability to connect the importance of company’s sustainability priorities to the tasks at hand
    • Experience with event planning, meeting facilitation, and stakeholder outreach
    • Strong attention to detail
