The Wonderful Education Team is seeking Summer Camp Counselors to support our Fit and Fun day camp in Lost Hills, CA. Professional development and training begins one week prior to our 3-week summer experience. Summer camp counselors will supervise 10-12 students and support lead instructors to deliver lessons related to healthy eating, physical fitness, healthy mind (mindfulness), and arts and support classroom management for campers ages 5-12 years old (grades K-6). Counselors should be self-directed, motivated, creative and enthusiastic about the mission and goals of Wonderful Education. This position will be supervised by the Senior Director of health & Wellness.

Counselor Training & Prep: July 8-12

Dates of Camp: July 15-Aug 2 (3 weeks)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Lost Hills, CA – Lost Hills Park & Community Center

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Assist in the planning and implementing of daily camp activities related to healthy eating, physical fitness, mindfulness, and arts.
  • Promote camper participation in all activities
  • Attend and be on time to every summer camp activity.
  • Must be a champion of Youth Health and Wellness.
  • Be a positive student role model to all students in the camp.

  • Outgoing, enthusiastic and a positive attitude
  • Comfortable speaking to a room of school-aged students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stressful or difficult situations with tact and appropriate sense of urgency
  • Desire to work tirelessly on behalf of students in the Central Valley of California
  • Previous work with low-income and underserved youth
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible when necessary
  • Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail
