Base Salary: $40,000 – $45,000

Located in Orleans County, New York, we are seeking a professional to fill our Production Assistant positions. We will be selecting two full-time, talented team members with diverse mechanical abilities to be part of our team. Time on the job will be assigned according to experience and expertise with the machinery. The amount of time allocated varies throughout the year. As part of our team, candidates will help us supply the industry with naturally great produce. By enhancing the effectiveness of the business through efficient machinery operation that makes crop production come to life, from planting the seed, nurturing the crop to delivering quality produce to the market and consumer.

  • Possess an aptitude in mechanical, machinery, equipment and maintenance
  • Excels at equipment operation in a safe and effective manner
  • Holds a Class A Driver’s license (CDL) or other endorsements or willingness to obtain
  • Capability to be a self-starter who can multi-task in a changing environment
  • Able to track, monitor and interpret crop data and other inputs to aid in machine operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to work both independently and effectively as a team player with employees, managers and owners
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills both intellectual and practical for hands on applications
  • Ability to utilize knowledge and understanding of the agricultural industry to aid in crop production to support leadership
  • Experienced in meeting regulatory and safety compliance standards

Essential Functions:

The candidates will maintain and operate equipment with skill and accuracy to fulfil the functions of the following roles:

  • Farm mechanics: Continuous service on all equipment and assist with additional repair and maintenance in the shop
  • Farm equipment operator: Operate all necessary equipment related to planting, producing and harvesting of crops
  • Excavator operator: Maintaining tree lines on field borders and drainage ditches
  • Transporter/Truck Driver: Transporting crops from field to storage and storage to destinations as well as moving equipment and staging for operation  
  • Responsible for carrying out food safety and recordkeeping tasks
  • Provide input and assistance to the managers for the alignment of office and production operations and the achievement of goals 
  • Collect and record data and update records to insure compliance with all regulations as well as provide management information
  • Insure safety measures and other regulations, as outlined by the business, are practiced to ensure compliance
  • Willingness to work additional and flexible hours during planting and harvest seasons



  • High School degree/Associates degree or higher/mechanic, automotive, diesel certificates a plus.
  • Class A Driver’s license (CDL) or willingness to obtain
  • NYS DEC Pesticide Applicator permit or willingness to obtain


  • 1-2 years of experience in farm/crop production, construction, mechanic shop or machine operation experience or equivalent combination of education, agriculture and mechanics required
  • Working knowledge of the agriculture industry
  • Machine operation experience required
  • Availability during peak seasonal cycles to meet deadlines is a must (weather dependent)
  • Physical ability to operate, lift and move heavy equipment required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is valued
  • Strong skills in task completion, organization and communication
  • Displays a professional and respectful demeanor

This position offers competitive salary and benefits, including:

  • The base salary range starts at $40,000 and is negotiable; we desire to compensate based on qualifications and experience.
