Learn and gain hands-on experience in all the aspects of the grain department, such as grain distribution, facility operations and routine elevator maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Learn and assist in all areas of the unloading, loading and transferring of grain and grain products shipped on conveyance equipment for shipping and transferring grain on truck and rail operations.

Experience the day-to-day procedures needed in order to keep up and maintain the equipment in the locations where you will be assigned.

Learn about the techniques to monitor quality, blending and condition of all grain moving through or stored in the facility.

Experience hands-on service-related opportunities by working with customers by loading and unloading of grain. Assist in answering customer questions and reports customer complaints.

Receive training on grain safety by attending meetings and hands-on training. Reports unsafe conditions or unsafe behavior immediately.

Required Qualifications

Normally requires a high school diploma or equivalent and currently pursing a degree or certification from a 2-year community or technical college in good academic standing.

Frequently required to lift 50 pounds or more and work at heights over 150 feet. Frequently exposed to dust, heat, cold and high noise level.

Ability to work hours beyond those considered normal.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to travel independently as needed.
