YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
In Bayer”s Pharmaceuticals division, we focus on researching, developing and marketing specialty-focused innovative medicines that provide significant clinical benefit and value, primarily in the therapeutic areas of cardiology, oncology, gynecology, hematology and ophthalmology. The primary responsibilities of this role, Engineering Intern, are to: 
 

  • Work within the Engineering Team on various Radiology projects;
  • Work under supervision of Project Manager / Engineer to conduct and document identified technical activities;
  • Be able to work independently;
  • Be able to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems, determine next steps and communicate path forward to the responsible engineer;
  • Conduct preliminary tests, analyze results, communicate observations and conclusions (both written and verbal) and make next step recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacutring, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Bioengineering, Plastics Technology or other related engineering major;
  • Be actively entering sophomore through graduate year of college;
  • Be a full-time continuing student (i.e. enrolled in school for the next term – Not Graduating in Spring 2021);
  • Applied mechanical and similar engineering skills;
  • Attention to detail, goal seeker, and demonstrated [strong] work ethic;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools especially Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint;
  • Ability to follow training guidelines;
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere and have the ability to communicate ideas and needs.
  • Available to work during one of the two following timeframes :
    • May 17th, 2021 – August 6th, 2021
    • June 14th, 2021 – September 3rd, 2021
       

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Previous intern/co-op experience in technical field;
  • Time study and root cause analysis experience;
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical skills through coursework and/or extracurricular activities;
  • Previous experience with generating and/or executing various test methods and protocols;
  • Strong customer focus of internal and external customers;
  • Good written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills;
  • Independently demonstrate the ability to create ideas and solutions to mechanical test setups and problems, including the selection of components, sensors, etc.
