What you’ll learn:
This 15-week program will provide you with a variety of learning opportunities designed to prepare you for future employment in the Ag industry. You can expect to learn the following:
The basics of the sales process including cold calling, overcoming obstacles, follow up practices, management and coaching.
Experience how marketing utilizes cross-department resources along with market analysis to develop advertising campaigns and support for business development.
Collaborate with different departments throughout the company such as research, agronomy and operations departments. Will also travel to sites that are not located in the corporate office.
What you’ll do:
  • Experience sales administration, product positioning, logistics, and how markets affect the placement of products.
  • Develop social media strategies and campaigns targeted to certain demographics.
  • Experience how field research is utilized in selling and marketing products.
  • Traveling with sales or technical staff to provide in-field agronomy and support.
  • Conduct field scouting for deficiencies, weeds, pest and disease with a CCA licensed agronomist.
  • Experience the basis of field research to determine product recommendations, develop new products or answer agronomics questions.
  • Create and give at 30-minute presentation and poster project to senior management recapping the internship experience.
What we’re looking for:
  • Current enrollment in an agriculture field of study at a higher education institution.
  • Willingness and ability for public speaking.
  • Desire to learn more about sales, marketing and agronomic principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and have strong computer skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
