The Category Innovation Lead will support the Commercial Innovation Director in defining a high value, insight-based innovation pipeline in all portfolio shape (Core, Adjacent and Transformational) of all dimensions, including new products / core improvements, services and claims for the Upper Respiratory category and Global/Regional Power Brands within it. The Category Innovation Lead will serve as a key member of the Global Consumer Business Unit, contributing to overall category strategy and leading/shaping thinking on Category Innovation.

  • Support the development and delivery of the innovation agenda for Upper Respiratory Category (Allergy & Cough/Cold), Global Power Brand and selected Regional Power Brands
    • Support development of 2 year category innovation roadmap in coordination with Global Category Team and drive approval in the Executive Committee
    • Drive development and deliver the innovation pipeline
  • Contribute innovation related topics in the respective category
    • Pro-actively contribute to the development of dedicated category strategy projects
  • Support category claims development
  • Ensure Insights, Marketing & Digital capability build-up and tool implementation
  • Collaborate with CID, GBD and R&D team to evaluate opportunities together with markets, and develop business cases for development and launch sequencing
  • Develop financial overview of innovation pipeline with timely manner

Required Skills

  • Bachelor”s Degree required with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Over the Counter and/or Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry with solid track record of success OR MBA with a minimum of 6 years of experience in OTC and/or Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry with solid track record of success
  • Required experience in country marketing operations with P&L responsibility; international, preferably global role preferred;
  • Allergy and/or Cough/Cold Category experience is desirable
  • Leadership qualities, ideally in cross functional teams, strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player with a global mind set and solid oral and written communication skills
  • Innovation experience (eg. Marketing Innovation, New Ventures, R&D, Project Mgmt)
  • Strong communicator
  • Strong commitment and will to achieve above market results
  • People leadership beneficial, ideally in cross-cultural environment
  • Cross-cultural experience, ideally from project work or international marketing experience
  • Understanding brand success drivers
  • Experience in tracking business value and projects
  • Analytical and financial management ability
