This position is located on the Cotton Ginning Research Unit (CGRU) in Stoneville, Mississippi.
The mission of the Unit is to develop knowledge of ginning processes and systems which, when integrated with the knowledge of cotton production and textile processing systems, will increase the understanding of cotton processing efficiency, cotton fiber quality and environmental efficacy

- The incumbent develops and manages the Unit?s research program and staff and is responsible, in cooperation with the National Programs staff and ARS line management, for contribution to programs planning, development, and review
- The incumbent manages the Unit?s budget with the limits of available fiscal resources and ensures that funds are allocated appropriately to meet research need and maintain the physical plant and facilities.
- The incumbent will also conceive, initiate, execute, and document research in broad areas of cotton ginning.
- This research is expected to further the mission of the Unit and to result in knowledge and/or technology of value to the cotton industry.
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel for this position.
