Kentucky Equine Management Intern

KEMI offers a comprehensive educational experience for students enrolled for academic credit through a sponsoring college or university, or for recent graduates of such institutions. Interns are employed full-time on prestigious Thoroughbred farms across the Bluegrass, attend weekly lectures focused on expanding their knowledge of the Thoroughbred racing industry, and attend local industry events to allow for networking opportunities with industry professionals. KEMI offers two internship sessions each year. The Spring session provides opportunities for interns to learn about the commercial breeding of Thoroughbreds. The Fall session focuses primarily on sales and marketing. KEMI has provided these opportunities for seventeen years and has provided internship opportunities to more than 750 interns from all fifty states and nineteen foreign countries.

CROP SCOUT INTERNSHIP

As a Crop Scout Intern at Peterson Farms your primary responsibility will be to assist the Chief Agronomist and the Crop Scout in the scouting and agronomic management of corn, soybeans, and wheat throughout the various stages of growth during the summer.

FIELD OPERATIONS INTERNSHIP

As a Field Operations Intern at Peterson Farms your primary responsibility will be to assist the Operations team in tasks related to land management and production practices primarily of corn, soybeans, wheat and maintaining the quality of a large scale row crop operation.

Field Operations Interns will be utilized primarily as ground support for our pipeline seeding operations in Eastern Ohio and West Virginia.

Interns in this position will be utilized as ground support for our aerial fungicide application operation.

Agronomy/Farm Operations Internship

Business Operations Intern

Crop Insurance Intern will learn the business operations of crop insurance related to crops, hail, and livestock. This position will work with various departments and assist in day to day operations, including but not limited to Licensing/Regulatory Compliance, Underwriting, Claims Processing, Crop Accounting, Product Specialist, and company-wide training.
