What You'll Do: The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a public service minded leader for a Peace Officer Training Compliance Specialist position to work at the Ohio Peace Officer's Training Academy (OPOTA). This position will work a remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. This position will be primarily remote work and qualified candidates must live within or adjacent to one of the following counties: Williams, Fulton, Lucas, Ottawa, Defiance, Henry, Wood, Sandusky, Erie, Lorain, Huron, Seneca, Hancock, Putnam, Paulding, Van Wert, Allen, Hardin, Wyandot, Crawford, Marion, Mercer, Auglaize, Logan, Shelby, Champaign, Miami, or Darke. The Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) houses both Commission and Academy staff. Commission staff oversees training requirements and curriculum for peace officers, private security, local corrections, jail personnel, K-9 units, and humane agents, in addition to firearms programs for public defender investigators, bailiffs, probation officers, and parole officers. They also oversee certification standards of peace officers. Academy staff provides instruction in basic, advanced, and technical subjects for the Ohio law enforcement community using the latest research and recommended professional practices. The Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) is seeking a Peace Officer Training Compliance Specialist. The Peace Officer Training Compliance Specialist will perform the following duties:

Qualifications 7 yrs. exp. in criminal justice or law enforcement work; valid driver's license. -Or completion of undergraduate core program in criminal justice, public administration, or related field; 5 yrs. exp. in criminal justice or law enforcement work; valid driver's license. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
