Microsoft Power Platform Specialist and Programmer - Decatur, IL
This is a full-time, exempt position.

About the Group
The Power Platform Specialist position is an entry level, salary exempt position in the Manufacturing Analytics and Transformation (MA&T) team. The MA&T team is part of the larger Performance Excellence and Continuous Improvement organization. We help manufacturing facilities make better decisions with data.

The Specialist will be responsible for developing, upgrading, and maintaining various solutions under the Microsoft Power Platform umbrella to gather & visualize data that improves manufacturing process efficacy in colleague safety, product quality, environmental impact, process reliability, and profitability. Successful candidates in this role will have a passion to deliver real improvements through technology.

Responsibilities
  • Design, create, and maintain solutions built in or leveraging the power platform suite of tools from Microsoft or on other platforms. This will include:
    • Support and improve solutions already created by our team and others,
    • Implement new ways to work more productively as a team and a company
    • Work with others to determine the best way to deliver ideas and initiatives, including whether they should be hosted on the power platform suite, in ReactJS, or on other platforms
    • Design and create new solutions when appropriate.
    • Installation and configuration of data gateways and manage data pipelines and ETLs
  • Support the team's CICD pipelines in GitLab and Azure DevOps
  • Support other scripts and programs developed or maintained by the team.
  • Utilize and improve best practices
  • Collaborate with various teams in Performance Excellence, plant management, Automation & Technology for meaningful understanding and feedback of customer needs. Utilize this understanding and feedback to develop useful tools and actionable visualizations for the customer.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to understand process pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise.
  • Develop and manage skills in Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, PowerBI, and upcoming Power Platform tools from Microsoft
  • Coach and support other colleagues related to technologies or programs mentioned on this description.

Requirements
  • Have an Associates or Bachelors degree
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Products, including:
    • Sharepoint
    • Power Apps
    • Power Automate/Flow
    • Dataverse
    • PowerBI
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages, preferably including the following:
    • HTML
    • JavaScript
    • Python
    • PowerShell
    • React
    • ReactJS
    • R
    • Shiny for R or Python
    • Git
    • GitLab
    • Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Able to communicate with all levels of the organization. This position will need to communicate with all levels of the organization, from technical conversations about how solutions work to high level customer-centered descriptions for potential users and managers.
  • Able to manage a large list of priorities, working on the highest priority items while keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Demonstrated success working individually on projects as well as part of a team
  • Ability to understand customer needs and create meaningful visualizations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with all parts of the company such as operators, engineers, and commercial personnel.
  • Understanding of Agile Project Management with project management experience preferred.
  • Experience consolidating SharePoint and disparate systems using Power Platform
  • Ability to create business process and custom connectors with Power Automate.
