The ideal candidate should enjoy working with students in small groups and be able to craft a curriculum that is relevant, engaging, and adaptable to multiple entry points. This position requires a strong background in Language Arts and Literacy with a supporting transcript from all post-secondary educational institutions attended. Kindle Farm School believes that students learn best when their relationships with instructors are strong; therefore, this position requires strong people skills, the ability to set firm but respectful limits, and diverse recreational interests. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to provide experiential education with the capacity to connect Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening to authentic learning units for our students. The position is not a traditional teaching position, in that many students participate in a strong vocational component in their day, The students at Kindle Farm present with a mix of emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges and respond to adults who are relatable, resilient, and resourceful! All Kindle Farm faculty members develop and participate in afternoon programming that includes therapeutic recreation, arts, life skills, and vocational experiences. Many of our students have had negative reactions to traditional classroom settings; in our school, they are served in small classes with a high staff to student ratios and natural incentives. Most of our students have Individualized Educational Plans created in conjunction with their sending school districts This position requires a candidate with a minimum of 15 credits of English credit at an accredited Bachelor's and/or Master's degree program.
