Senior Project Manager II - Decatur, IL

Position Summary:

This is a salaried, exempt-level position. This position reports in collaboration with an established team to the Capex Regional Manager, overseeing projects in Decatur, IL.

Job Purpose and Impact:

The Project Manager will partner with the business units and cross-functional ADM stakeholders to manage expectations for project scope, schedule and budget.

This person will facilitate buy-in for project implementations while collaborating with a team of professionals to execute on various project initiatives.

In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects with high financial impact and significance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define project scope and plan the delivery of projects according a roles & responsibility matrix
  • Execute the project, including costing and implementation according the Front End Loading (FEL) guidelines
  • Assure monthly project reporting to the stakeholders through FEL, execution, commissioning, and capitalization and closure
  • Manage scope change and risk management escalation processes
  • Maintain compliance with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, HAZOP
  • Support and drive contractor safety through the use of preventative action plans and safety metrics
  • Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is maintained during project implementation
  • Coordinate the team development of all necessary documentation for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain all records required by legislation and policies
  • Coordinate and provide direction to contractual partners for project execution including the use of a well-maintained work breakdown structure
  • Establish project structure and coordination with project steering committee according project governance guidelines

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience managing several industrial capital construction projects
  • Experience with cost engineering and key performance indicators
  • Experience with industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades
  • Experience with industrial process project commissioning means and methods
  • Proficiency with use of Microsoft Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools
  • Knowledge of enterprise management systems
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal English fluency communication skills, experience using written and verbal communication skills effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field, preferably in combination with project management engineering
  • Certified Project Manager or willingness to obtain certification
  • Ability to work with EPC and EPCM (engineering procurement/construction management) firms
  • Experience with execution on renovation and brownfield projects or related experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint beneficial
