Title: Farm Supervisor, Dairy: State Farm Correctional Center #01661, #01661 State Role Title: Agricultural Specialist III Hiring Range: $38,966 - $60,787 Pay Band: 4 Agency: Dept of Corr - Central Admin Location:State Farm Work Center Agency Website:www.vadoc.virginia.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Perform daily duties of a large farm operation which includes production of row crops, vegetable crops, lumber products, dairy operations, maintenance of buildings, grounds, roadways and the operation and maintenance of all farm equipment utilizing inmate workforce. Provide training, supervision and evaluation to inmate workforce while performing all farm tasks. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge of dairy management practices and applications. Herd health management skills. Skilled to complete tasks within limited timeframes. Skilled in teamwork. High School diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Must possess or obtain a Virginia Department of Agribusiness & Consumer Services (VDACS) Registered Technician spray license within 12 months. Additional Considerations Agricultural, construction or equipment experience. Possession of Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Pesticide Application Permit or the ability to obtain them. Artificial Insemination (AI) Certified. Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery.
