Supervisor, General Mfg Production

MAIN FOCUS

Supervise multi-skilled employees in operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost effective production operations. Provide guidance to other Supervisors in issues regarding projects, trouble shooting, and employee relations.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the daily operation of the department as designated and in the absence of the Superintendent or Director, Manufacturing
  • Supervise multi-skilled personnel as assigned, to ensure that performance meets established safety, quality/Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), quantity and cost standards
  • Propose and monitor resources required for projects
  • Manage, coordinate, and directly supervise production resources including coaching, counseling, performance reviews and feedback/initiating corrective action as needed, in a timely fashion
  • Mentor department supervisors to support budget and goals, and drive resolution of issues
  • Collaborate with other area supervision and Human Resources and drive consistency in situations requiring corrective action with employees
  • Participate in the design and development of new packaging/production materials, equipment and packages
  • Ensure formal and informal training occurs in employee technical skill development as well as other training initiatives including safety, CGMP, teamwork, etc.
  • Serve as the technical expert for manufacturing and/or packaging processes. Continually review processes and results and serve as the technical liaison with various staff groups (i.e., Quality Assurance, Process Technology, Engineering, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance of local, state and federal regulations and guidelines (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency
  • Ensure SOPs for areas of responsibility are updated, accurate, and complete
  • This role serves as the designated Sanitation Supervisor per 21 CFR 111.15(k)
  • Prepare and manage operating budget for assigned area(s)
  • Review cost reduction programs with respect to waste and other inefficiencies. Evaluate equipment needs and method changes and assume responsibility to ensure timely and efficient implementation of changes
  • May perform other department management duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (In lieu of degree, at least 8 years of equivalent experience and high performer, reviewed by site management team)
  • Proven organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are required to appropriately balance daily needs/business demands while leading improvements for the future
  • Strong personal computer skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate positively with personnel at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in cross-functional settings
  • Demonstrated ability to provide developmental opportunities to subordinates and provide constructive feedback in a timely fashion is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS or BA (Engineering or Science Degree is preferred) plus at least 6 years of production and supervisory experience in a government regulated industry using QA procedures (FDA, pharmaceutical industry preferred), Master's degree and 4 years of experience listed above, or PhD and 2 yrs experience list above, may be considered (In lieu of degree, at least 8 years of equivalent experience and high performer, reviewed by site management team)
  • Experience with windows environment, Microsoft WORD and Excel preferred
  • Knowledge of automated Materials Requirement Planning system (i.e. MES) preferred
