Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies. The Inspection and Compliance Branch (I&C Branch) is recruiting to fill one (1) Agricultural Aide (Seasonal) position located in Sacramento. Under close supervision of the Agriculture Program Supervisor (APS) II, the incumbent provides clerical and data entry support to the Direct Marketing Program (CFM) for activities related to the certification and inspection of agricultural products. The incumbent will work part- or full-time hours, dependent on the needs of the Program, and is limited to 189 working days or 1500 hours within a 12-month period. Duties performed may include, but are not limited to: • Input Certified Producer's Certificates electronically into the program database with speed and accuracy. • Call or email County Agricultural Commissioner Offices for clarification on certificate discrepancies. • Input county cooperative agreement invoice data into program database. • Assist in program mass mailings, including preparing labels and envelopes, folding documents, and stuffing and sealing envelopes. • Fax, photocopy, and scan documents as needed. • File all reports of collection, certificates, and other correspondence. • Prepare all program files for archiving according to retention schedule. Working Conditions The duties of this job are performed indoors in a cubicle. The employee's office is located at 2399 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 200. Free parking is available, and Regional Transit buses are within walking distance. The incumbent should have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to operate a desktop computer, copy machine, printer, and fax machine. The Branch consists of the following programs: Shipping Point Inspection Program; State Organic Program; Direct Marketing Program; Standardization Program; Avocado Inspection Program; Citrus Program, the Technical Assistance Program for Produce Safety, and the OCal Program. The Branch consists of multi-discipline staff, including Agriculture Program Supervisors, Environmental Scientists, subject matter specialists, inspectors, investigators, and technical and support staff.
