Job Details Job Location Appleton Farms - Ipswich, MA Position Type Seasonal Description TITLE: Seasonal Assistant Camp Director LOCATION: Appleton Farms, Ipswich, MA PAYRATE 2024: $19.00/hour Minimum Age: 21 Start Date: May 15, 2024 Who We Are: Appleton Farm Camp is a children's day camp located at Appleton Farms in Ipswich, MA. The 1,000-acre farm is one of the oldest continuously operating farms in the country. The vibrant learning garden, barnyard animals, beautiful trails, engaging education programs, and deep history make this a special place to visit and work. At camp, we have an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to learning in the fields and forests, the Learning Garden, the barnyard, and the kitchen. Our unique camp connects children to the land and the natural systems that support us all, while spending time outdoors, exploring, making friends, and having fun. A Day in the Life: The Assistant Camp Director provides leadership in all matters pertaining to camp and serves as the acting Director as needed. Prior to camp, the ACD will work with year-round staff to prepare materials and spaces for training weeks and the camp season, and should be prepared to lead training activities for staff. A well-rounded candidate will be proficient in environmental and farm-based educational activities, well versed in creating a camp culture, and be knowledgeable about child development and behavior management. Daily routines for all staff include educational activities and chores in the barnyard and education garden; exploring this historic property and its many wild habitats; learning about food production, sustainability, and ecology; art and craft making; and free play. We offer two weeks of collaborative paid training to prepare our staff for this complex, challenging, and rewarding work. Qualifications What We Need from You: Qualifications:
