Director of North America Animal Nutrition Creation Design & Development - Any ADM office in the US.

The listed position requires an individual with a strong leadership background and experience of leading and developing larger teams based in North America (NA). Assignments are given in terms of broad organizational goals and objectives with a focus on partnering with commercial teams and customers to create solutions. The position is placed within ADM Nutrition Business Unit Creation Design & Development (CD&D) structure supporting Animal Nutrition (AN) performance goals.

CD&D delivers service and support excellence through full CD&D team capabilities by integrating technical sales, formulations, life cycle management (LCM) and intelligent portfolio management placing customers in the center of our focus. The director will be leading a team of highly skilled and experienced nutritionists, veterinarians, life production experts and practical formulators. The director will also interact with other CD&D functions including laboratories and product managers to employ full ADM AN portfolio capabilities including premixes, complete feeds and functional ingredients. Collaboration with other ADM teams is expected to develop and introduce synergistic technologies that provide innovative and cost effective real-time solutions to our customers. The position requires up to 50% of regional (USA, Canada) and some global travel.

Scope and responsibilities:
  • NA AN CD&D team management:
  • Build, maintain and support the regional NA CD&D team structure:
  • Align individual USA and Canada market needs with optimal CD&D resource level allocation, expertise and geographical presence - technical sales, formulators and LCM
  • Set strategy for the regional CD&D team development expanding on the agreed global CD&D team strategy format and goals
  • Support and develop CD&D talent though coaching, influencing and providing access to all available ADM capabilities building best in class sales and customer support team
  • Lead the team to actively contribute to the organization's technical growth participating in conferences, seminars and trade shows
  • Support ADM technical leadership through team's participation in technical writing, other publishing, conference presenting
  • A frequent interaction with all members of the regional team is mandatory
  • Embed process structures and culture of ADM within the CD&D team
  • Focus on a consistent Salesforce use to support regional growth strategy
  • Actively participate in ADM's sales and product development process
  • Support daily and focused approach to safety improvements
  • Work closely with other AN CD&D teams:
  • Review opportunities and experiences from other regions and their introduction in NA
  • Share ideas and experiences from NA with other regional teams and CD&D colleagues for new opportunity creation
  • Interact with Feed Additives and Ingredients team, LCM team and CD&D laboratories to help improve team's function and bring new services and solutions to the NA market
  • Interactions with ADM teams and functions:
  • Interactions with AN stakeholders
  • Build and maintain frequent and open relationship with AN leadership, regional president, commercial excellence team, marketing, regulatory and S&T teams, as well as local country management.
  • Provide detailed monthly reports and present during regional AN leadership meetings
  • Networking with Pet and Human Nutrition CD&D teams
  • Build relationship outside AN teams to support cross-sharing of expertise and opportunities.
  • Requirements:
    • A degree is required, a Master's or PhD preferred.
    • Five (5) or more years of experience leading diverse teams of technically advanced experts in the agriculture field with preferred expertise and experience in animal nutrition and/or animal health area.
    • Understanding of feed additives technical support, practical premix and feed formulation knowledge are also preferred and welcomed skills and competencies.
    • Additional expertise and experience in live production, swine, ruminant and poultry health or management areas as well as a sound commercial acumen are beneficial.
    • Full spoken and written English proficiency is required.
    • Active knowledge of Spanish and French is welcome.
    • This position requires up to 50% of business travel within North America and some additional global travel for internal events.
    The position can be based at any ADM location in USA and Canada could be also considered depending on an individual candidate's situation.
