Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative/predictive maintenance, repairs and improvements on industrial equipment and facilities/building equipment, in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety, food quality and machine efficiency.

Here's what you'll do:
  • Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.)
  • Perform uptime and downtime inspections, lubrications, and preventative maintenance on weighers, baggers, conveyors, high speed roll up doors, dock doors, etc...
  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective work on all mechanical, electrical (120v, 220v single and three phase, 480v), pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the facility
  • Identify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processes
  • Repair/replace light ballasts, light switches, some minor plumbing, painting, and other facility repair
  • Collaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email and radio communications
  • Provide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnel
  • Research system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communication
  • Dismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise and reliable manner
  • Operates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materials
  • Creates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System, and documents details of work performed
  • Research parts, gather quotes, and generates requests
  • Escalate technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessary
  • Work with moral integrity on a consistent basis
  • Performs other assigned duties and projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Technical degree and three years or more of related experience and/or training in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Effective English communication is a must, bilingual is preferred
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is preferred
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and present out general business items to groups of coworkers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Must be able to frequently move items weighing up to 25 pounds as needed
  • To successfully support the business needs, the employee will be expected to work overtime, weekends and rotating/varying shifts, as well as be available for emergency call-out as needed
