Parts & Service Sales Representative

Ellens Equipment Inc is a family owned, agricultural, construction and landscaping equipment dealer. The company offers equipment repair services, parts, and sales of several different types of equipment from a variety of manufacturers.

Ellens Equipment is looking for a full-time parts counter salesman. The Parts and Service Sales Representative responsibilities will include but is not limited to the following:

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Establish and maintain good customer relations to promote returning customers to the dealership.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent sales route with regular visits to customer farms and shops in coordination with Parts and Service Manager, Store Manager, and Sales Representatives.
  • Provide Parts Ordering, Sales, and Delivery to customer farms and shops.
  • Help create monthly Parts sales specials to market at customer shops and farms in coordination with Parts Manager.
  • Offer and promote the full line of products serviced by Ellens Equipment Inc.
  • Review Customer equipment for potential new business when visiting customer farms and shops.
  • Target new customers to visit and market to whom are not currently engaging in business with Ellens Equipment Inc.

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  • Coordinate with shipping clerk to receive parts freight deliveries for customer orders.
  • On occasion will be asked to assist parts counter coverage in the dealership.
  • Maintain company vehicle: Washing, regular vehicle maintenance, etc.
  • Contact customers when ordered items have arrived at dealership.
  • Required to work Saturday mornings on a rotation basis.
  • Required to work on call on a rotation basis.
  • Required to maintain daily log of customer visits in the customer retention management system (CRM = Salesforce)

Additional Notes:

  • As part of regular job duties, the PSSR will need to be able to perform the following frequently:
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills.
  • Lift, carry and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 25lbs and may occasionally weigh in excess of 80lbs.
  • Travel to customer farms and shops. Be able to walk and carry work related materials into customer farms and shops from company vehicle.

Education and Experience Requirements: A High School diploma or equivalent. Additionally, one-year minimum experience in the farm equipment industry is required, preferably involving service or parts.

Skill, Abilities, and Knowledge: Ability to maintain inventory records, a clear understanding of how the process of acquiring parts and sales of parts impacts inventory. Offering an image of helpfulness, knowledge and experience is essential. Orderliness and cleanliness must be a paramount attribute to the person who is to be charged with the responsibilities of this position. An ability to follow a regular routine of tasks necessary to maintain order is required. Computer literacy is also required.

Mental Requirements: The parts counter sales person must maintain high staff morale in the company. Setting an example of teamwork is critical to this requirement.
