AVS Bio, the world's largest and most trusted producer of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and laboratory products for biologics development, is currently seeking a dedicated Poultry House Operator to join our team in Catskill, NY, located approximately 30 miles south of Albany.

Position: Poultry House Operator
Location: Catskill, NY (30 miles south of Albany)
Compensation: $20/hr, weekend pay, paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick/personal time), medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate regularly with Farm Management.
• Maintain biosecurity measures and adhere to regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of houses and equipment.
• Collect and sanitize eggs, providing clean SPF eggs for sale.
• Conduct basic maintenance tasks.
• Monitor flock health, reporting concerns to Farm Management.
• Perform weekly blood draws.
• Monitor and maintain feeders, waterers, medicators, house temperatures, bird weights, and conditions.
• Assist in training new hires.
• Ensure humane care of birds throughout their life cycle.

Requirements:

• Excellent work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to regularly move or lift 30 lbs and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.
• Desire for maintaining overall flock health.
• Prohibited from owning or having contact with live poultry or other birds during employment in this position.
