Salary: $17.75 - $19.75 Hourly Location : Cupertino, CA Job Type: Part Time Casual Job Number: 2024-00010 Department: Parks and Recreation Opening Date: 02/16/2024 Description This recruitment is open until filled and subject to close at any time. The City of Cupertino Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Lifeguards and Swim Instructors at Blackberry Farm Park for the 2024 operating season (late April to early September). Applicants must show proof of up-to-date Red Cross certificates for Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer prior to the first day of employment. Definition: Lifeguards and Swim Instructors are responsible for the safety and well-being of patrons at the pool as well as for teaching swim lessons. The position requires a fun and positive disposition, excellent customer service and communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well with a team. Class Characteristics Lifeguard and Swim Instructor is a seasonal part-time, temporary, non-benefited, and at-will position from late April 2024 through early September 2024. It is also limited to no more than 995 hours per fiscal year. Applicants must possess all relevant certifications before the first day of employment.
