eGenesis At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue, and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a reliable member to join the eGenesis Farm Operations Team in the Greater Madison, WI area and assist in all farm activities including operating large equipment, hay production, landscaping, and basic animal care of swine. The right individual will have experience working with farm equipment and must be able to perform maintenance on equipment and buildings. Experience with hand tools and power tools is required. This position requires working a rotating weekend schedule. The right individual must be detail-oriented with strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team and individually. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Operation of large farm equipment such as skid loaders, tractors, manure management equipment, and hay equipment Activities involving the above may include but are not limited to carcass management/composting, spreading solid and liquid manure, pasture and lawn mowing, and unloading deliveries Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, animal facilities, and lab facilities, and repairs when needed Responsible for landscaping and general grounds upkeep, i.e. operation of lawn mower, weedwhacker, leaf blower, snowplow, and chainsaw Participate in daily care of pigs at the animal facilities, including cleaning and upkeep of the facility Follow safe work practices, correct unsafe acts and conditions Adhere to eGenesis biosecurity requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Basic working knowledge facility maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing skills Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills Basic use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications is beneficial but not required Must not have any other interaction with pigs outside of the company Welding experience is beneficial but not required Strong attention to operational planning and follow through Working knowledge of data collection and recording PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in different environments, including farm, shop, office, and animal husbandry environments in varying weather conditions. This position requires physical demands such as climbing, stooping, crouching, sitting on equipment such as lawnmowers and tractors for extended periods, and handling/moving swine throughout the facilities. Employees are regularly expected to lift objects 30-60 lbs multiple times throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus.
