Abundant Life Ranch believes everyone is created for a plan and purpose. That purpose is best lived abundantly through healthy relationships. Using horses and ranch life, the Ranch teaches how the aspects of communication, respect, and trust impact relationships, both with individuals and God. Our team consists of 3 staff members and many volunteers. The Ranch has recently grown from a home location to a larger, separate ranch location which has provided more opportunities for participants, as well as allowing for us to manage more staff, volunteers, and participants.

Brief description of position:

Abundant Life Ranch is seeking an Operations Manager who is outgoing, flexible and dependable to provide direction and leadership necessary to assist staff, volunteers, and partners/participants; and, who will work alongside Executive Leadership performing all duties with a warm, friendly attitude. We are looking for a competent applicant who will help in organization planning and monitoring progress as well as work to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with rules and regulations for the ministry as a whole. The individual we seek must have a mature walk with Jesus Christ and be able to articulate Biblical beliefs and their application within the context of Abundant Life Ranch. We all play a role in the ministry, therefore it is also required that all applicants possess and maintain a Christian testimony of their faith and experience in Jesus Christ.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in developing and implementing plans and goals for the organization
  • Working with the Executive Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Assist with overseeing facility maintenance needs and scheduling upkeep
  • Assist in monitoring budget and expenses by tracking data and preparing reports
  • Provide detailed information regarding donation funds and receipts to the bookkeeper
  • Assist with grant applications as needed, to include maintaining information of the process
  • Maintain databases by verifying data and processing backups
  • Monitor and update Ranch inventory and other resources
  • Manage volunteer interview process
  • Prepare and maintain staff and volunteer rosters and files, to include reporting and monitoring process
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and partners/participants
  • Create reports and submit them to the director or other executives
  • Document and maintain organization's procedure(s) details
  • Implement and represent policies while upholding values
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Maintain scheduling of events and represent the company when needed
  • Develop schedules based off needs of the program
  • Monitor and manage employee time-off and trainings
  • Coordinate donor events
  • Manage online donation programs and monitor donor information
  • Oversee annual fundraising events
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Educations and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent education, preferably an associates degree
  • 2 yrs + Experience in performance and operations management
  • Mature walk with Jesus Christ
  • Must be in agreement with the Statement of Faith of Abundant Life Ranch
  • Experience in and an understanding of Human Resources
  • Functional knowledge of CA and federal employment compliance
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Experience with budgeting, finance, accounting, or similar
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Experience with insurance plans, deductions, and reporting
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations
  • Understanding of rural country life
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills , friendliness and tact
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions in routine and emergency situations
  • Flexible
  • Ability to take and implement feedback
  • Passion for sharing Jesus Christ and to articulate Biblical beliefs through actions and words
