We are hiring for a full-time, year-round, Farm Operations Lead to be an all-around player to operate equipment and perform light repair/maintenance. You will enjoy working in a variety of roles from running equipment in the field to working at our grain facilities to assisting with equipment maintenance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow in your knowledge and skill working with a large operation that values developing people.
We offer a competitive compensation with time and a half pay after 50 hours/week, partially paid health care plan premium, retirement plan with 3% match, and paid vacation
What you would be doing
- Hands-on leader in all aspects of the operation
- Operate farm equipment including planters, harvesters, combines, sprayers and tillage
- Perform preventative maintenance and light repairs on equipment and implements
- Assist with loading/unloading grain
- Haul grain for local delivery
- Adhere to all safety protocols and
- Assist in all areas of the operation depending on the needs for the season
- Work longer hours and days during peak season
What we’re looking for
- Experience in farming or related field, GPS, and precision ag experience
- Operating heavy equipment, farm equipment
- Preferred knowledge of row crops, sugar beets, agriculture equipment, agronomic practices, plant health, soil health, farm equipment, chemical, and fertilizer use
- Strong mechanical background, preventative maintenance, welding, and fabricating equipment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills
- Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn
- Problem-solving and analyzing past and current performance and recommending objectives to improve the productivity and profitability of crops
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the farm
