Farm Operator – Swine Technician for Norton Farms

A little about the business: Norton Farms is a family owned and operated grain, swine (3,000) and cow/calf operation (300) located near Plattsburg, Missouri (45 minutes north of Kansas City, MO). We have a passion for agriculture and pride ourselves on growing quality crops and caring for our livestock. Our hog operation is a farrow-to-finish with pasture raised pigs.

What you would be doing: In this role you will be handling various responsibilities from operating farm equipment, hauling grain, working with animal care and performing light equipment maintenance. Our farm consists of family and 4 FT employees along with part-time help. Each employee is cross-trained to be able to assist in both the grain and livestock responsibilities.

Qualifications: 3+ years operating heavy equipment preferably on a farm or in agriculture.  Relatable experience such as construction and/or military also considered. Valid driver’s license required and CDL A preferred or willingness to obtain. Basic mechanical skills and ability to work on equipment. Strong computer and technical knowledge.

Formulations Chemist for CoreAgri

A little about the business: We produce and market specialty fertilizer and micronutrients. With our production facility in Tennessee, CoreAgri is a leading North American provider of micronutrient fertilizer products, EDTA micronutrients, foliar sprays, water soluble products, plant desiccants, and an emerging line of organic and sustainable plant nutrition products.

What you would be doing: We’re hiring a Formulations Chemist for our Humboldt, TN location (30 miles north of Jackson) to modify and develop formulations of liquid and dry micronutrients for use in agricultural applications. Our Humboldt facility is in a state of growth and development, so we’re looking for a formulator who is excited to help us grow.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or relatable field. 5-10 years prior formulations experience; backgrounds with fertilizer, micronutrients preferred, not required. Ability to implement continuous and measurable improvements.

Field Service Technician for Agri Industries, Inc

A little about the business: We’re a family-owned operation providing irrigation and water well drilling systems and services to northern North Dakota and Montana. With two locations and a dedicated team of over 100 employees, we provide a one-stop shop to our customers including underground construction, installs and repairs. We’re a Valley Irrigation Performance Plus dealer. We pride ourselves on being a true partner with our employees and offering a great place to work.

What you would be doing: You will be traveling locally on-site to farms to provide both mechanical and basic electrical repair to irrigation equipment and well pumps. You will be providing top-notch customers service while troubleshooting, servicing, reconditioning and/or installing systems. Enjoy being out in the elements and working on equipment throughout the year.  We’re hiring for both experienced level technicians and junior mechanics with agriculture backgrounds.

Qualifications: Prior maintenance and repair background especially in mechanical repairs. Prior farming and/or agriculture experience; highly preferred or strong understanding of the industry. The ability to work year-round with peak hours during Summer/Fall (2500-2800 hours per year), work outdoors and in the cold, and lifting up to 75 lbs. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Are known for being a quick learner and like to work on equipment.

Scale Operator for CSS Farms

A little about the business: CSS Farms is a diversified producer of vegetable crops as well as row crops and small grains with operations across the US.

What you would be doing: The scale operator is responsible for all facets of the operations of a truck weighing process. The duties include, but are not limited to, weighing trucks, collecting and reviewing manifests, recording all information in a computerized weighing system, running reports, sampling inbound materials, and filing. The reporting and filing systems are primarily computerized.

Qualifications: Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to comprehend, read, write and communicate proficiently in English. Experience using Windows based computer programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Candidates must be eligible to work unrestricted in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Shop Mechanic, Equipment Operator, and Irrigation Technician for Milk Source Farming, LLC

A little about the business: MS Farming is the cropping enterprise that supports New Chester Dairy, one of the largest dairies in Wisconsin.  We manage crop production on over 5000 acres in Central Wisconsin growing mostly corn and alfalfa. 

What you would be doing: We are hiring for a full-time year around equipment operator/ shop mechanic in central Wisconsin. You will be operating a variety of farm equipment and implements.  You will be conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting both in the field and in the shop.  Duties will be roughly split between operation and maintenance.  Irrigation pivot operation will also be a part of your duties during the summer months. Irrigation experience is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications: Have large tractor driving experience with modern implements. Experienced following a preventive maintenance plan on multiple types of equipment. Are comfortable with longer hours involved in peak season farming operations. Have knowledge of basic electrical trouble shooting. Are willing to learn.
