A little about the business: We’re a fifth generation, diversified farming operation in Northern Alabama.  We’re a large operation growing wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and sorghum on irrigated and dryland.  We’re a progressive operation embracing modern technology and agronomic practices. Our team is passionate about growing quality crops and enjoy working together through the unique challenges of each season.

What you would be doing: You will be operating various farm equipment such as a sprayer, combine, planter, tractor-trailer and tillage equipment.  You will assist with light maintenance and be able to jump in other tasks as needed by the season.  You will be working with our precision ag technology. Our team works together to get the job done and looking for an individual that is flexible in nature to assist in all areas.

Qualifications: Have prior experience operating heavy equipment; production agriculture is preferred, although we are open if you have experience in other areas such as construction or military utilizing heavy equipment. Enjoy working out outdoors and are comfortable with the longer hours required during the peak seasons. Are known for being a hard worker and area a stickler for the details; if you see something that needs to be done, you’ll take the extra minute to take care of it. Have a comfort level with technology; prior experience utilizing computerized systems in equipment, electronic data tracking, or relatable skills.

Lead Picker for Apricot Lane Farms

A little about the business: Apricot Lane Farms is located 40 miles north of Los Angeles and 20 miles east of Ventura in Moorpark, CA. Our team has been charged with the mission of creating a well-balanced ecosystem and rich soils that produce nutrient-dense foods while treating the environment and the animals with respect.

What you would be doing: Principal Accountabilities include picking and sorting agricultural produce, such as fruits and vegetables, tracking produce picked, phenology and more.

Qualifications: 2+ Years’ Experience. Ability to maintain clear communication with others. Detail oriented. Willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions. Valid Driver’s License. Spanish or Bilingual speaker is preferred. Physical Demands include standing, walking, balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Credit Manager for Agfinity

A little about the business: Agfinity is a locally owned cooperative offering a world of solutions in energy, crop and turf nutrients, animal feed, and auto and hardware centers for producers and consumers.

What you would be doing: Credit Manager is responsible for the accounts receivable function, ranging as high as twenty-five million dollars per month, dispersed over an average of four thousand accounts. The position is fully integrated with all Product Divisions and Shared Services regarding credit underwriting, monitoring extension of credit, communicating with the customer base, installation of systems that are best in class, and collecting delinquent accounts. Because of the integrated nature, this position deals with a variety of credit problems and duties. Volume of input adds complexity.  In this cooperative, requests for convenience credit can exceed $500,000. Many decisions can be dealt with according to standard format, however, complex issues or major decisions on individual applicants or accounts entails periodic development of new methods.

Qualifications:  3-5 years of progressively responsible experience. Accredited Credit certification will be given preference. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent. Formal education or extensive experience with Ag Credit and sales strongly desired.

Possess strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Naturally self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals. Reliable transportation.
