Agronomist Intern for Anheuser-Busch

A little about the business: As the leading global brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev has a vision that they share with their wholesalers, retailers, consumers and partners. They want to brew great beers that can not only be enjoyed responsibly, but are also created with a low impact on the environment.

What you would be doing: Spend a summer helping Anheuser Busch source the raw materials for beer from over 800 growers in the US. Execute a flagship project designed specifically for the intern and build agronomic and business knowledge on malting barley, hops, or rice by actively participating in day-to-day Agronomy Team duties.

Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Systems, or related field, Sophomore or Junior status, GPA of 3.0 or greater. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, work directly with numerous barley growers, and internal customers. Good communication, leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Flexible for future relocation.

Operations for Central Valley AG

A little about the business: Central Valley Ag (CVA) is a member-owned farmers’ cooperative located in central and northeastern Nebraska. Established in 2003, CVA has 365 employees across our trade area that provide agronomy, grain, and feed services to over 10,000 farmers and ranchers.

What you would be doing: You will be responsible for assisting in receiving, shipping and handling grain and agronomy and to perform preventative maintenance and cleaning as needed.

Qualifications: General mechanical ability required. Integrity and good judgment skills required. Excellent customer service skills required. Must be a quick learner and have the ability to multi-task.

Branch Office Manager for Roach Ag. Marketing, Ltd.

A little about the business: Roach Ag. Marketing is an independent, full-service commodity advisory firm founded in 1978 to help farmers do a better job of marketing their crops and livestock. Although our advisors are authorized to trade all commodities, we specialize in corn, soybeans, wheat, cattle and hog futures as well as agriculture commodity options.

What you would be doing: The ideal person will oversee commodity advisor trading, consulting and new hire training and development. You will have budgetary and P/L responsibility for location specific operations, including new hire start up budgets and insuring yearly trading and consulting targets are met in a variety of market conditions. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting or a finance related field) or equivalent industry-related experience; plus 2-5 years of financial services industry experience a plus but not required. Large company experience a plus in investment and or trading is critical to the high wage earners potential. Familiarity with compliance, financial, and accounting quality assurance. Knowledge of human resource procedures and regulations is a must including managing annual healthcare agreements, LTD and STD policies along with all HR related spending. Must have familiarity with FINRA or NFA regulated business. Series 7 and or 3.

Irrigation Service Technician for Hitchcock Inc. of Goodland

A little about the business: Hitchcock Inc. began in 1961 as a family-owned manufacturer of sugar beet equipment in Burlington, CO. We are able to provide our farming customers in Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas with fast, reliable service and trusted knowledge to help their operations remain profitable.

What you would be doing: You will provide quality customer service while using your mechanical abilities to repair, recondition, and assemble customer’s new or used irrigation equipment in the field. Their best technicians have a mechanical background with knowledge in electrical components either in center pivot irrigation systems, heavy equipment, agriculture equipment, construction or military.

Qualifications: 2-3 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of electrical or mechanical systems related to irrigation or ag equipment, welding experience, and the ability to lift 75 lbs. Ability to communicate clearly with our customers in agriculture, management, and other employees, work year-round overtime and in the outdoors, use service related technology and basic computer functions. Valid driver’s license is required, clean driving record and background check. CDL license would be helpful, but not required.

GM – Agronomy Location Manager for The Andersons Inc

A little about the business: The Andersons is a diversified company, serving customers across North America in the grain, ethanol, plant nutrient and railcar sectors.

What you would be doing: In this role you will manage all employees at the location (~12 employees) and be responsible for the overall performance of the location.  Team includes operations supervisors, agronomy sales staff, location office and customer service staff, and operations workers. This position is for you if you have prior location management of an agronomy retail location or are a senior-level agronomy sales manager ready to take the next step in your career.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in crop and soil sciences, agronomy, agriculture or agribusiness. 7-10 years of applicable experience in agriculture. Valid driver’s license. Commercial driver’s license (CDL), preferred within Farm Center/Agronomy Retail. Agriculture custom applicator license, a plus within Farm Center. Certified Crop Advisor Certification (CCA), a plus within Farm Center.
