Grain Facilities Assistant for Peterson Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to Peterson Farms located in Central Kentucky! We’re a diversified, family-owned and operated farm growing corn, soybeans, hemp and red winter wheat. We manage over 18,000 acres in nine counties with a majority of our production used in the bourbon whisky industry. What you would be doing: 

  • Dump and load grain trucks
  • Sample and grade grain samples in accordance with GIPSA standards
  • Input correct customer information on tickets to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Perform routine maintenance on grain handling equipment
  • Ensure grain facility sanitation
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our customers
  • Understand and execute the movement of grain throughout the facility
  • Operate grain dryers
  • Climb grain bins
  • Decide which bin to put grain in based on analysis of the sample
  • Mix and blend grain to meet customer specifications
  • Ensure a safe work environment and maintain cleanliness inside the tractors and vehicles

Qualifications: 

  • Have prior grain handling, grain elevator experience – strongly preferred, open to other production agriculture experience
  • Are mechanically inclined with the ability to work on the facilities
  • Have the ability to work extended hours during the busy season

Lab Technician for Kentucky Heritage Hemp Co., LLC

A little about the business: Kentucky Heritage Hemp Co.  – is a Limited Liability Co., the majority of which is owned by Peterson Farms.  The company’s purpose is to produce high quality CBD oil in a managed environment with 100% traceability.  Kentucky Heritage produces Certified Organic oil, as well as basic oil and distillates which will be sold wholesale to retailers of private brand CBD oil.   Our company’s production facility is located in Cox’s Creek, KY.   The company name evokes the Petersons long history of farming, and Kentucky’s long heritage in the hemp industry.  

What you would be doing: 

  • Operate and monitor hemp oil extraction and processing equipment.
  • Collect and analyze samples.
  • Operates and monitors Quality Control (QC) processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Laboratory.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in a QC environment.
  • Experience with HPLC processes.
  • Demonstrates ability to be self-directed and perform work without daily direct supervision.
  • Operates in a manner than promotes team environment and promotes KHHC as a friendly work environment.
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time

Dairy Farm Worker/Operator for North Valley Farms

A little about the business: North Valley Farms is a family owned dairy farm located in Shepherd, Michigan.

What you would be doing: 

  • Operating trucks and hauling forage during harvest season
  • Operating tractors while hauling manure and completing general field work
  • Operating skid steers to clean barns and various tasks
  • Light maintenance of equipment such as greasing and checking fluid levels
  • Mixing of feed and delivery of feed to cattle

Appraiser for GreenStone Farm Credit Services

  • Conduct quality real estate and personal property appraisals responsively to support client appraisal needs.
  • Conduct market surveys and collect real estate sales information to support appraisals and asset valuation
  • Provide input to Association for enhancement of the appraisal process.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of rural appraisal experience
  • Formal appraisal training through, and membership in, a professional appraiser’s organization that is a member of the Appraisal Foundation.
  • A working understanding of and ability to apply the general appraiser proficiencies.
  • Must be licensed as a state certified general appraiser who has satisfied the requirements for certification by a state or territory whose requirements for certification meet or exceed the minimum criteria for certification issued by the Appraisal Subcommittee of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.

Farm Equipment Operator – Mechanic for Sand Creek Dairy

A little about the business: Come join our team at Sand Creek Dairy! We are a progressive, Centennial dairy farm in southwest Michigan and currently are milking 1,200 cows with additional heifers on site.  We raise our own feed on approximately 2,500 acres with an emphasis on premium forage quality.  We are a family-owned operation that prides itself on caring for our animals, crops, and being a great place to work.

What you would be doing: 

  • Operating farm equipment and machinery such as loaders, tractors, straight trucks and semis.
  • Performing maintenance on equipment and facility repair.
  • Assisting in other areas of the farm as needed such as manure handling, feeding cattle, irrigation and cropping systems.

Qualifications: 

  • Have prior experience operating or repairing heavy equipment or farm equipment as well as experience trouble shooting or repairing a wide variety of machines.
  • Preference of candidates with farming and or agricultural background or knowledge.
  • Enjoy working out outdoors and are comfortable with the longer hours required during the peak seasons.
  • Are known for being a hard worker and are a stickler for the details; if you see something that needs to be done, you’ll take the extra minute to take care of it.
  • Are a team player that is good collaborating with other co-workers to produce a quality product as efficiently as possible.
