A little about the business: Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship (DGA) is a National Apprenticeship under the U.S. Department of Labor-Employment and Training Administration that covers all aspects of owning and operating a managed-grazing dairy farm. The program consists of full-time paid training over a period of two years with opportunities for advancement upon completion.
What you would be doing: Major work categories include measure and manage pastures for optimal production, manage dairy cattle in a grazing system, manage milking operations, manage dairy cattle nutritional requirements, manage natural resources in a grazing system, manage farm business operations to meet goals and more.
Qualifications: Must have high school diploma or higher or GED, or a composite score of at least 18, or comparable Accuplacer test scores in math and reading. Must be at least 18 years of age, physically able to perform the work of the trade with reasonable accommodations and without hazard to themselves or others, and have reliable transportation to and from work and school.

What you would be doing: The Marketing Manager for Specialty Agriculture will be responsible for increasing market share of BioWorks products in North America in the Specialty Agriculture (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, herbs, cannabis) market. This is a leadership role, driving the strategies needed to position BioWorks as a leading bioproducts and solutions brand in the Specialty Agriculture market.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, product management or industry specific knowledge (e.g. growing). Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, product management or Specialty Agriculture. Possess the ability to make quick decisions based on strategy & market conditions. Function with minimal guidance and accountable for growth results.
A little about the business: California Transplants was established in 1997 by Ted Woods, a grower with over 30 years of experience in the vegetable transplant industry. After working for years for other growers, Ted located our beautiful, arid site and decided to branch out on his own. Our growing operation is centrally located high above the valley fog and enables us to get our customer’s plants to the field quickly with limited turnaround times. What you would be doing: The purpose of the Production/Assistant Grower is to support the Production Manager in all aspects of growing high-quality vegetable seedlings. The role will require learning and gaining experience in all areas of the business. You will be expected to complete a 12-month training session in which knowledge and experience is gained in the areas of seeding, growing, and transplanting.
A little about the business: Central Valley Ag (CVA) is a member-owned farmers cooperative located in central and northeastern Nebraska. Established in 2003, CVA has 365 employees across our trade area that provide agronomy, grain, and feed services to over 10,000 farmers and ranchers.
What you would be doing: As an HACCP Coordinator at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for the development of Central Valley Ag’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Feed Production Policies. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that Central Valley Ag’s policies and procedures are in practice at each location across the Company.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college required. Three to four years of progress responsible experience in an HACCP related position required. Integrity and good judgment skills required. Must have the ability to multi-task. Must have the ability to teach others. Strong leadership aptitude and effective verbal and written communications skills required.
A little about the business: We are a family farm located in Eastern Iowa. We farm 4,500 acres of corn and soybeans and have a cow/calf herd and three hog buildings.
What you would be doing: Looking for an individual who is capable of: operating large modern farm equipment that includes up to date farm technology systems, must have or able to obtain immediately class A CDL license, assisting with livestock duties such as chores and working cattle, must be able to work as team but self-motivation is highly important, in off season must be able to perform shop tasks.
Qualifications: Seeking qualified candidate with previous livestock and farm experience. Willing to train in specific areas as needed with a willingness to work hard and be part of a team. Must have current driver’s license, and a clean driving record.
