Heavy Equipment Operator at Ruff Farms

A little about the business: Ruff Farms is an expanding farm and agricultural drainage operation just south of Columbus, Ohio. We pride ourselves on having the same traits and doing a great job on every acre we farm.

What you would be doing: 

  • Operating heavy equipment such as farm machinery or construction equipment
  • Performing light maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Assisting in all areas of our operation as needed

Qualifications: 

  • 1+ yr as a heavy equipment operator, mechanic, or technician preferred.
  • Preferred candidates with either farming, construction, military or relatable machinery experience
  • Good mechanical ability 
  • Self-motivated, team player, and ability to work independently.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, Class A CDL a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work extended hours during peak season

Farmhand/Ranch Hand at Schoenfelder Farms

A little about the business: Welcome to Schoenfelder Farms! We’re a family owned and managed fourth generation farm located just outside of Rochester, MN. We have crops (hay and corn) as well as a feedlot and cow/calf operation and farrow-to-finish hog operation. We work hard each day and pride ourselves on getting the job done.

What you would be doing: 

  • Operating front end loaders and cattle feed trucks and feed wagons, tractors, spreaders, haying equipment, etc.
  • Daily cattle care including feeding, sorting, checking, vaccinating, checking fencing, hauling to pastures, etc.
  • Other general duties around the farm as necessary

Qualifications: 

  • Comfortable around heavy equipment, cattle, and are mechanically inclined
  • A hard worker that is self-motivated and can work independently 
  • Someone who enjoys working outdoors and are comfortable with the longer hours needed during peak seasons
  • Passionate about the agriculture industry or have relatable skills and are looking to get into farming

General Bull Herdsman at ORIgen

A little about the business: ORIgen is a cattle farm located in Montana.

What you would be doing: 

  • General care of resident and custom collection bulls
  • Assist in daily bull collection
  • Daily bull feeding
  • Daily care for bulls and housing facilities

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Agronomy or Agriculture preferred with a minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the agronomic industry in seed, crop protection/nutrients; or 5-6 years of sales experience in the agronomic industry in seed, crop protection/nutrients, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of accounting
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial accounting, budgeting processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Access
