Shipping and Inventory Specialist for BioWorks

What you would be doing: 

  • Actively participates in promoting, supporting and enhancing our company Values and Culture
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with customers, collaborators, vendors, co-workers and management.
  • Working safely and following all safety rules
  • Load/Unload trucks with inbound and outbound shipments
  • Operate forklift and pallet jacks when required, after proper training and certification
  • Operate various packing equipment, including shrink wrap machine.

Qualifications: 

  • Education– Academic, technical, or commercial Associates Degree
  • Experience– Minimum of 5 years of warehouse/logistics experience
  • Complexity of Work & Decision Making– A variety of non-routine duties, not necessarily related, that require considerable judgment to work independently
  • Accountability–Finished work not regularly reviewed by supervisor. Performance of tasks and activities are reviewed by supervisor on a scheduled basis (performance evaluation process)
  • Consequence of Errors– Probable errors difficult to detect and may have adverse effect on outside or customer relationships
  • Customer Interactions– Regular contact with various levels of staff or other departments, furnishing or obtaining information. Contact may involve discussion of controversial issues; or contacts with external people where improper handling may affect results but the primary responsibility rests with the next higher level of supervision

Organic Agronomist for Peterson Farms

What you would be doing: 

  • Scout crops and report observations to operations team and chief agronomist.
  • Ensure organic certification compliance, including crop record keeping.
  • Communicate Standard Operating Procedures to hemp growers and greenhouse operators.

  • Communicate and coordinate with 3rd party vendors for fertilizer and other products.

Qualifications: 

  • 4-year college degree in Agronomy, Crop and Soil Sciences, or related field.
  • 3-5 years scouting, farming, agricultural services, or related experience.
  • Proven strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to research, analyze, and present data to management in a clear, organized manner.
  • Proficient in IOS and PC GPS systems.

Grain Superintendent for Central Valley Ag

What you would be doing: 

  • Oversee day to day operations of the elevator.
  • Coordinate movement of grain, including receiving, grading, loading, and storage among elevator facilities to maximize profitability.
  • Regulate the grain inventory at the location and communicate inventory levels to supervisor.
  • Assists in monitoring grain storage and condition to maintain excellent grain quality, including ensuring proper aeration, checking temperature, and sampling quality.
  • Oversee maintenance of buildings and equipment at the grain elevator, including grain dryers, fans and motors.
  • Manage the customer base through excellent customer service and customer relations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the ag industry with an understanding of grain. Experience with quality, inventory, blending, conditioning and management of ground piles is preferred. Prior experience as a grain laborer, grain operator or similar role would prepare you well for this.
  • Great communication skills. Prior management experience is not required.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A Class A CDL license, or the ability to obtain it.
  • A HS Diploma or GED.

  • 3-5 years experience in agricultural or industrial machinery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
  • Some Travel necessary, both internationally and domestically.

  • Operate farm machinery and construction equipment such as excavators & backhoes
  • Haul grain and drive semi when needed
  • Perform light maintenance and repairs on implements, equipment and tractors

  • Work with precision ag equipment – GPS in all our John Deere tractors
  • Work additional hours during peak season
  • Lift up to 75lbs and be able to work on your feet throughout the day

Qualifications: 

  • Understanding of farming/agriculture knowing there are some longer days in spring and fall
  • Experience on a farm or background in agriculture; open to candidates with heavy equipment operation, military and/or construction with relatable experience
  • Truck driving experience, preferred CDL or willingness to obtain
  • Mechanical ability to work on equipment
